I have received a request from a Secret Pal that I think is a great one!!

Could you please post below what John Lyon's materials you already have and what JL materials you'd love to have. Penny was so excited about her Communicating with Cues books and her excitement has inspired another Secret Pal. ;)

Also, with all the fairs and markets that will be popping up this spring and summer, it would be great if everyone could post their various sizes again...just in case your SP sees something they might like to get for you. :D

Hey..while I am at it..I know everyone keeps saying we need a forum for SP..but it hasn't happened..might be alot of work to create another section..

How about admin. posting it as "sticky" at the top of the general section...Secret Pal..do you have any pull? I keep missing posts where someone recieves something..if it was in Sticky mode we could check in often..... (or did someone already suggest this :o )

I like T-shirts. I usually like x-large.

Well, I have the Riding Manual & Ground Control Manual, Lyons on Horses, Private Lessons, Riding Exercises and the On the Trail videos. I want to get the On the Trail book and another set of reins. I love those reins!! I bought a cheaper set last year at a horse fair, should have known better, actually I DID know better but, anyway, in trying to saive money I wasted money. Our 6 year old thinks those cheaper reins are fun to play with on his play horse though!! Yikes, I'm rambling on again.

I also enjoy a good baggy t-shirt or sweatshirt, probably size medium or maybe large.

By the way, I love this thread. No, I'm not looking for someone to send me things but it's fun to know what others' are wishing for!!

All I have is an old GCM and Lyons on Horses. So pretty much any of the DVD's or videos would be the best thing in the world.

Sizes, hmmmm.....do I really want to admit it? Shirts and such have to be at least a large to x-large. I am shall we say well endowed so I am hard to fit. I won't go into pant size because that wouldn't matter.

I don't have but a couple of JL books1. BUB and Lyons horses plus 1 DVD set Training from the heart. I would love any of them that would help me as I am still real green and I can't get him direct tv anymore. in fact I don't get anything like that as of last week. decided it was spring and I was wasteing my hubby's money on it. I do have dvd player and a vcr but I also like to be able to just pick a book up if I have a question and find what I am looking for. Holy Moly I just looked at the pitcures in the book Lyons on horses. he was young. I just got this book a yr. ago and it was copy written in 91.

I don't know if JL has a a dvd or vcr on showing western but I sure could use one :D

I don't have any JL books or videos, and don't have a specific wish list. I love to read horse books! I wear a 2X shirt if it's women's size, or XL if it's a men's. :-)

I don't have anything John Lyons....I stumbled across this board by way of barefoot research....but have used his (and a similar trainers) techniques.

almost forgot...shirt size would be M or L depending on the brand. L probably for womens M for men's.

What a great way to find out information about our secret pals. I don't have any JL items, though I would be greatful for any thing that can help me train my first horse.

As far as clothes, I like the xL or XXL (the bigger the better as far as I think)I like horsey shirts and horsey items that resemble my cowboy. A blanketed appy. (He's too cute)

I forgot to say I wear a large if it runs normal. if they run small or are tee shirts then i wear a xlarge since I like my tees to be loose fitting. My best friend just gave me a real nice dress western shirt size large that fits me to a tee. she said she did not remember if it was a womans or mans but I told her that my hubby wear a large and they are way to big in the arms and shoulders. this shirt could not have fit me any better then if I had picked it out for myself. It is white with black piping and riders on horses in black. I plan to wear it with black jeans when I show I also have a black leather vest that would go good with it and my black boots. I have a black belt with silver heart and a buckle. I can always use western clothes since I love to dress that way. if it's western or western horse anything I love it.

I have all 3 Cues books, the Exercise Manual, GCM, and On the Trail, the book. Phew! That's a lot!

However, I'm a visual learner and would LOVE to have some DVDs or videos. I guess my grandpa does have the Symposium 1 tapes, but I just can't get into them.

Reins would be cool too! I have a "generic" pair that I really like but it would be interesting to see the difference with John's. I assume they're made of the same material (1/2 " yacht rope), but who knows?

Anyways! That's my wish list.

Oh, yeah, and shirt size is M to L depending on the shirt's sizing.

I have 1 & 2 of the cues books, the GCM and the RM. I would love to have anything else :p Best Start, and speed control are high on the list as well as blue 10' reins. But I realize those are very expensive, so unless my SP is loaded :p I really don't expect anything like that. My t-shirt size is large.

I have BUB, Communicating with Cues I, II, III, and most of the rest of the Making of a Perfect Horse Book Series, having an older Ground Control Manual and just bought the Riding Manual. The only video I have is the BUB video. I don't have any DVD's (except for the ones that came with the Riding Manual)

I have two full cheek snaffles and one set of reins.

I wear a large t-shirt usually but with some of the new women's t-shirts I'm finding I take an X-L.

I don't have a thing JL. All I own that is close is a DVD of the Whisper challange where Josh won. No contest as far as I can see.

What do I really really want. Well not much I guess. I'd love a subscription to perfect horse. And the DVD/Book on trail horse training. I'm not greedy I'll take what I can get from those who are generous enough and well off enough to give. I am always looking for ways to learn more and improve my skills but I'm just a poor gal who can barely afford to keep her horse so if anyone out ther wopuld like to help out. Let me say thank you a hundred times in advance. :)

All I have is Lyons on Horses, and the Best Start DVD (oh, and quite a few of the issues of Perfect Horse over the past 3 years). I love to read horse books, training books, whatever... but don't have too much time to watch horse shows on TV, unfortunately.

I wear an XL, for the most part. I love horsey stuff, especially western style.

Not trying to brag, but I spend all "my money" on JL stuff, sometimes it takes years to save up for stuff, but I have been at this a long time so I have most everything JL (have a whole wall dedicated to "JOHN" stuff)the Shrine corner my hubby calls it! Would have to really search far and wide to find something with his name on it that is not on my wall! So my SP is out of luck but I love anything horsey! As far as I am concerned I have gotten my "big" gift from my SP with the gift boxes! (sitting in my living room!) Personal notes really hit home with me! Shirt is 1x.

In a Whisper, Round Pen Reasoning, Leading and Loading, Lamb tapes 1-3 biting, fear and calm down. John Lyons Training Guide, Lyons on Horses, Tracy Porter, Ground Work Made Simple. On The Trail, Horsemanship, Communication Through the Reins, BUB and Mastering the Art... Training from the Heart (DVD).

The best thing John ever produced was Symposium One tapes set;
he answers many questions you still ask today on those tapes.

Communication through the reins is the second best,
explains GttB in detail. Add that to Perfect Horse March 2003 and
you are pretty much up to date with the new Lyons. Bridlework Ballet and
how to stop the runaway is in March 2006 PH.

Next on my wish list is the rest of Tracy Porters DVD's.
She was in the last Cert Class John taught.

The only JL items I have is a subscription to PH. (Which I love) Oh, and one of his snaffle bits.

I would love anything from JL. I have been particularly looking into the "rope halters" though I don't know if he sells those or not. Any DVD or book by him would be great. :D Hey beggars can't be choosy!

"Bringing up Baby" is on my wish list as I plan to breed Ally next Spring. I have the JL Riding Manual with DVD's. I also have a great DVD "JL's Controlling your Horse's Speed".

Size-wize I am a size 6 in tops, which is usually a small.

I love ANYTHING horses. Absolutely ANYTHING :D
