poor kitty

We had someone come into the office last night with a kitty they found in the gas staion parking lot where they work. they called animal rescue and they told her to take them to us to see what was all wrong. it has a viral infection and had fleas and ears might really bad. the lady talked about keeping it if it was not going to cost her a lot. so we treated it and talked to her since she was wanting to keep it. but she was worried about taking it home at this time since she has a cat. the infection can be spread so she would have to kep in away from the others. since all my cats are out door in door cats mostly out at this time and i have a way of keeping it away from mine I said I would foster it until it was well enough to have a real home. this kitten can't be but maybe 4 weeks old just like the one i adopted a while ago but this one is sick and they weren't. I got mothers milk and some can food to feed it and it is eating. we deflea it and treated it ears for the mites . so i cleaned the ears out somemore this morn. I did not say i would pay the vet bill so i hope this lady does since adopt a pet is not either since she said she was wanting it. I'm not chargeing to care for the kitten. I just hope she pay the vets bills for the meds.

I hope the lady does come back at least tries to pay the bill and takes it home...doing good is never a bad choice in my book, and I fully believe that everything we do - both good and bad - are noticed...so I always want my "book" to be mostly good....LOL

i found out today that the vet bill was charged to this lady that brought the kitten in. if something happens she don't pay it or don't want the kitten after it is well the i will find it a good home or it will be a barn cat along with the rest. she is a girl and i already have 2 i need to get fixed about Dec. i get some breaks working for a vet but not that much and i already have my sharew to care for. do't worry i will see it is taken care of even if I end up keeping it.we checked it first to make sure it was lukimia free. we still have to worm it but not until it is done with the meds she is on. it would be to much for her little body.she doe not seem to mind the dogs sniffing her all over.

update on the kitty. I talked to the lady that found her just yesterday. she was still planning on taking her and giving her to her sister who wanted a cat. I told her the kitten was doing good but would need one more week to get over her virus to make sure she did not give anything to her cat. she is a sweet kitty. I told her I would have the vet check her again when I took her to work. thiswas done with no charge. I paid 25 dollars out of my pocket for the mothers milk it needs and what ever food I use. I was not charging her for any of it or the time. everything was fine until today. when i got home i had a message saying there was a problem she decided she was not taking the kitten after she got a $90.00 bill for the day she brouhgt the kitten in. this was for the meds for the eyes, ear mites and the virus. plus treatment for the fleas she had so bad. I did not see what she actually was charged for but i do know what the vet did since i was right there. I wormed her and redid her for lfeas a few days later at no cost. so now this lady is pissed and don't want the kitten. she don't want the bill. she said the adopt- a pet told her to bring it in. the vets office said since the lady wanted to keep the cat adopt a pet was not responiable so now i am stuck in middle and the poor little kitty. I can't keep it. you all know the problems i have with my dog killing my cats and i now have my 3 that are left in the house and they have to stay in my bedroom when the dogs are in. my dog that kills cats sit there and whines at my bedroom door. I have to take one off my dogs in the morn to get her teeth cleaned so i will talk to the vet and see if I can talk to adopt a pet to see if they are going to take it.

Look on the bright side. At lease you found out about this woman not wanting to (or not able to) pay for the care of this kitty before she went home with her. I hope you're able to find a good home for her. :)

Oh...what a shame....you know lots of people think especially with a cat...that you don't have to pay anything to keep it healthy...just turn it loose outside and throw it some food and water...

Appears to me that the kitty wouldn't have been properly taken care of anyway if this lady is so upset that she might have to pay money (gasp) to save the kitten's life....so things may turn out for the best.

Yes, I would see if the adoption place can take the kitty in and know that it will be taken care of...

I posted these with other pic's but thought I would do these hear to. today she got her first full bath. she did not do to bad. but i made sure I dried and wrapped her up and held her so she did not get cold. you can tell in the picture she is still having some problem in one eye.
